Hi,
Can anyone tell me if I raise an m52 engine in an e30 if it will clear the bonnet? I know some engines like the m42 the manifold is to large and if you raise the engine for more sump clearance the manifold hits the bonnet. Any help is appreciated!

In my previous m50 i have oil pan at same level with bottom subframe. No problems with strut brace and bonnet.
I raised my m42 by 20mm (10mm each side of the mounts) and the sump had good ground clearance then, level if not a tiny amount above the subframe. Didn't hit the bonnet.
I have now done the same to my m50 and there is more clearance between the engine and the bonnet, you just have to watch the gearbox mounts. Or replace with poly everything a‘a

I think the total height of the M5x engine is lower than the M20 as the manifold curves down instead of up and over.
