I have everything here now to get it all back together but I've hit an issue which is baffling me, was wondering if anyone can help?...

I am trying to mount the manifold brackets and loom bracket and I can't seem to find what size bolt is to fit in the threaded holes in the block...

Logic tells me they should be M8x1.25 but the thread in the one I'm sure is 1.0 (an M7x1.0 will kind of fit but is a little loose but does bite enough to maybe hold so an M8x1.0 should fit here) and the other, which also should be an M8x1.25 is also not what I expected...

Does anyone know the actual sizes of these threaded holes on the M52 block?

Both holes in pic

I'm losing the will to live! lol..

The manifold brackets usually go over studs on the block, which are M8x35mm, then an M8 nut secures them. Have you removed a stud or was it never there?

It was never there, the engine has been fitted into an E34 so the engine mounts are different and the normal mount points for the inlet manifold brackets are not present :-(

Ahh. Well I know when you change from the M52 to M50 manifold the brackets have to be 'adjusted' slightly to fit the studs on the block, mine went onto the studs fine with new M8 nuts.

Do the threads look to be full of rubbish? Id imagine they are M8, its all realoem lists

They are the standard 8x1.25 thread, just run a tap down them with some oil, very common for unused holes to have some corrosion in them
