Can anyone confirm that an S50 oil filter housing will bolt up to the m52? I am needing to install an oil temp sensor and looking for the best option. I dont really like the oil filter caps that are threaded for one.

yes will bolt straight onto the block, you will also need to use the steering pump|&braket from a 6cyl that uses the same metal fillter lid as the one from the plastic lid houseing is differant take you know about the vanos oil feed banjos are 14mm but on the m3 only has m12 tapings iam just about to do this myself just spent a bit of time sorting things out and was looking at marking a proper kit with my own design.

Can you use the m52 alt and PAS pump still or need to get the s50 ones? Where did you get the housing from?

as well as a matched oil pump&bracket anything of an early m50/52 that is 6cyl or an m3 as thay are all the same but you will pay extra 'M tax' on the m3 one even tho is the same as a 2.0/2.5 etc!just make sure is a 110bar or what pressure on is needed for you rack?.and the bonus is has an alloy pulley unlike the late plastic shit ones, you will need the two fluid pipes that match that pump, one from the res,the otheir one that go's from pump to rack as thay are differant as well
