on my m52 conversion there is a rattley loud grinding noise when the clutch pedal is fully pressed to the floor, the noise only appears when the pedal is completely pushed to the floor and is not there when say the pedal is half down.
I've used the 328 zf gearbox with the lightened m20 flywheel m20 starter motor and a brand new sachs clutch with a m20 release bearing, it sounds like every time i press the clutch the release bearing is being chewed.
any ideas what it could be??

Ive had it before on a few E36's when changing to an M20 flywheel, whats happening is the bearing is moving too far into the clutch and im pretty sure its the release arm touching the side of the clutch cover. Spacing the release bearing forward will change the angle of the arm, is the clutch/feel ok otherwise?

As Dan said...
Have the same sound on mine.
Just need to have a clutch stop on for the last 5mm of travel and it will be ok ;)

Thanks for that. Will look to adjust the bracket to stop the clutch. Just need to make sure I don't stop it too short and the clutch doesn't full disengage.
Are most people using M20 release bearings when their M20 fly/clutch, M50 gearbox combo?
