I am currently building a new rally car shell and wondered what peoples opinions are regarding engine weight etc. im pondering on what engine to fit i have all the parts to build a stroked m42 which i know my previous car handled very well with. i also have a m50 engine im conserned that by fitting a bigger engine that the car will loosr its nimbleness that my old car had. any thoughts please.

M50 2.5 = Heavey
M52 2.8 = 20kg+ lighter ;)

having an iron blocked m50 up front can make it interesting to get the nose into corners,, all good when th back comes out and something one can get used to but when i ripped my m50 out one saturday morning and went out in the car on sunday night with the new m52 under the bonnet i instantly could feel the front felt sharper and more nimble.
this was my very first impression after 5 mins of driving it.
something for you to mill over
