Big bore throttle bodies
Moderator: martauto
im just in the process of fitting my m50 manifold and was wondering are the bbtb's worth the extra cash? i've seen a couple kicking about between £80-£120.
68.4mm compared to stock 64mm.

funny you should say that dan ive just been speaking to him in the last few days, he has an M50 tpo match the manifold thats going on tomorrow for £69 which i thought was a bargain, are they worth the effort? would a retune be in order?
i dont really want to run a chip as im going to be running a nitrous set up eventually and the ignition advance doesnt help

Same here, I've got an M52 and a M50 TB, which one would I need boring out if I'm using the M50 inlet manifold?Duke137 wrote:Might be interested in this, got a link boys?
well im using an m50 mani so im sticking with the m50 tb, both can be used but theres a bit of fannying about with gaskets and plates if using an m52 tb where as the m50 is alreay meant for the m50 mani

These pics were taken just as i was fitting it to your old Lump Dan. Alpina527's BBTB the lips are thiner than the Ebay one.

The 'ends' are thinner yes, you can see the alpina527 tapers at the start of the body, did you measure the difference at the butterfly valve? I did with mine and it was as the ebay advert states.
Also you are comparing an M50 throttle to an M52 throttle, they are quite different, does alpina572 even do an M52 throttle? They are a lot more work than an M50 throttle

Yes, ive got one on mine, iirc you said it makes it more responsive using the M52 TB due to the vertical opening butterflyDanThe wrote:does alpina572 even do an M52 throttle? They are a lot more work than an M50 throttle
