Right I am looking at getting another m50b25nv to tune, I know if I get all the internals from bottom end of an m52b28 I can put the pistons rods And crank into the b25 block giving me a 2.8 with no hassle. Is there any other piston/rod combo I can use? If I am right this may give me around 210-220 bhp I have a chip for my nvb25 ecu could I stay on same management or would this cause problems with fuelling?

Ideally I would like around 240-250bhp could I achieve this with an m54 b30 crank (would it just bolt in my block or would it need machining down etc) also what pistons/rod combos are there for this conversion?

When head is removed and am building the block is it a good idea to have the head skimmed before fitting new head gasket? Or if head gasket was fine is there no skim req? Clearly I would allways replace the hea gasket set for new anyway lol!

Thanks guys.

i'm doing same build as you are, i will not be skimming the head as i know it is sound... i have previously done gasket changes on these without skimming the heads too!!

Are you doing the b28 or the b30? What combo are you using?
