Hi guys does anyone know the proper procedure for changing exhaust manifold studs on an M50? I've got all the old ones out but i just want to be sure of putting the new ones in and how much to tighten them etc.

I put a nut on the stud then another and tighten it up, the second nut grips the 1st and will turn the stud, then take the nuts off when stud is tight. worked for me mate. Obviously don't over tighten!

put the new ones in just by hand to check you don't cross thread them. Then once they are finger tight put 2 nuts on and tighten in further, not too tight though

And be extra careful on an M52 to avoid pulling the threads.
