I got hold of a full e36 m52b28 look (at least I think it's complete and from a 328).

Whats involved in swapping the e36 loom for the e39 ones, does it all just plug into the engine?

Is there some sort of guide/post about thinning out unnecessary bits of the loom?

Not sure its much help for what your asking but it might get you close?
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

There's wiring diagrams in the stickied posts alright, does it just disconnect from the engine and can any of the wires be crossed and what not?

I don't think I could afford Danthe to do the loom conversion, Finished work next month so got to keep an eye on the pennies (or cents over here)

The M52 loom is the easiest to refit, there are not many connectors you can get mixed up 8)

Cool. What about trimming un-needed bits of it?

The only piece that isnt really needed is the plug to the fuel tank vent valve, next to the MAF plug, it can be removed right back to the common live and ECU plug

Look in magpies thread in photo gallery for a pic
