I've got a manifold with throttle body still on it. Is it worth getting this bored out before the engine goes in or are there very little gains to be had?

I have both. Are there restrictions in the 2.8 one like there is with the manifold? I've not read into it an awful lot yet but will the 2.8 TB bolt up to the 2.5 manifold?

M52 throttle pics in my thread here - http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... &start=325

You can use an M52 throttle but you will need a gasket plate ideally, you can also use two rubber gaskets on their own for a ghetto fit :)

Any link or pics for what you mean by this gasket plate? Is it a plate between 2 gaskets for manifold and the throttle boddy?

Is it worth getting the throttle body bored out? No other mods planned for the moment although some s52 cams would be sweet :D

A proper airbox and inlet pipe is much more worthwhile to start with, its not just a case of boring the body, a new butterfly valve has to be made and it must seal perfectly or you will end up with idle problems.

BBTB is always one of the last mods to do on my lists

I'll put it a few notches down the list then.

I was going to go with a cone filter and make up a heatshield. Don't think there's much room for a airbox with the abs pump sitting there.

Or you can fit an m30 airbox.

Is there any gain of fitting an m52 throttle body over an m50 one? When i was reading about it im sure somebody said to leave the m50 throttle on?

There is room on the otherside of the engine bay for the ABS pump...

I thought I read the m30 airbox was a bit more restrictive than the m52 one? I'll need something cause i have nothing at the min.

the m30 one isnt as good as the m52 one, but if you want an airbox and dont want to relocate the abs pump you dont have alot of other options.

Has anyone relocated the abs pump? Seems like a lot of hassle re-routing all the brake lines. I can see myself going with a cone filter and making a heatshield for it.

Car looks well in the pic in your sig Cook :thumb:

Will this work with the m52 or will I run into other problems moving the ABS pump nearer to the bottom of the strut?

With the engine out the engine bay will be getting a very good overhaul anyway (as will the rest of the car) before the m52 goes in.
