As requested ha.
A dirty little copy/paste. I'll attempt to add further updates as they happen.

Whoring myself about the interwebs.

I'm not overly wordy so this will be more of a pic dump me thinks.

Sorry mate, I missed this question.
Like Will says, it's a m52tu b28. The car in the first picture is a 2000 South African spec 328 manual (rear around these parts).

Slightly different to most Euro type cars. Shame it wasn't a 330.

My clearcoat skills need practice.
What you cant see are a couple of small runs and some dry areas!
The stuff always seems too thick to flow nicely and then suddenly runs on ya. Its a bloody fine line and engine bays are a prick of a thing to paint.

Just looking at your design in the banner i noticed your going for quarter bumpers on the front, i tried to make some of these out of a couple of old chrome bumpers but didn't have much luck, your fabricating skills are a lot better than mine so you'll proberly get them looking better than this..

Picked up a bonnet stay!
Whilst I initially enjoyed having the bonnet smack me in the head, it eventually got annoying.
Also means i have pics of the bay with engine.

So, for anyone who gives a sh*t, this is how the flares are created.

The std flare is cut off and the inner and outer skins are welded to each other.
Image

Image

This is the flare transferred to steel from the mdf template.
Image

A length of 4mm wire is then welded to the inside edge. It has to be one piece and you need to be carefull as you bend it to shape.
It forms an even curve and reinforces the edge of the flare.
Image

It must be fully welded before it's put back on the car.
This is the back.
Image

You can see the holes transferred from the template too.
Image

So you can fix it to the car and begin welding.
Image

Massage it a little to make it nice
Image

After welding and starting to clean it up
Image

Right, way ya go.
I expect to see flares on all your cars by this time tomorrow.
