So i have had my 335i on the road a couple of days now, and what is apparent is that when revving hard and spinning the steering wheel you can feel the joint between the column and rack carching on the exhaust manifold.

When i made the exhaust i routed the downpipe around the rack and also slightly squashed the pipe and yet it is still catching!

Upon inspection the engine does have a fair bit of rock on the 325 rubber mounts!

So who makes half decent but cheap mounts, either solid or very firm? I have found a few shops outside the uk but thats it really :S

Just get nice new bm ones and make sure your gear box mounts are good to.

Landrover engine mounts, and the small engine mounts from Car Builder Solutions for gearbox mounts are a cheap and effective way of doing it :)

I can't remember which ones I fitted now for the gearbox mounts from this page, you will need to measure the standard mount to compare, but I found one with the same dimensions and they are much firmer (and cheaper) than standard mounts: http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/category/Mec ... nts,b.html

Just get some standard 325i ones. I had the same issue with my m30. The engine was mounted on old beat up collapsed 325i bushes....

Ime not sure if some more standard ones will do it though, my current mounts dont look too old so i dont wana pay out for some more and find i have wasted my money, i would rather just get something i know is going to work straight away...
