Hi, i've read about so many different options i just wanted to check this would work ok.

I currently have an M40 318i cab

would a e34 M30 manual box and a M20B25 prop bolt up nicely. I have the gear selector mechanism from a M20B25 also

Thanks

Simple answer, yes :)

Exactly the setup i am using, you have to remove the centre bearing and turn it the opposite wah so that it still bolts to your body in the same place

Also you will need the small output flange from an m20 gearbox to swap onto the m30 box

Dont need to mess with the centre bearing it should just bolt straight up.
Flange has to be from a 325i for some reason 320i has different splines and wont fit.

You need to reverse the centre bearing if you're using an E36 328i prop

Thanks Gents

Is part No.17 the output flage you are talking about in this M20B25 parts diagram ?

http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mod ... g=23&fg=15

So take it the job is as simple as removing the M30 output flange and fitting the M20 flange and tighten up the nut.

Many thanks
