Want to wire my aux fan up tomorrow, but I want it wired to a switched +12v so it can'y be activated if the ignition is off.
Where can I tap into a switched source?
switched +12V source?

Just curious as to why you want the fan running without the igniton on?

Jim - Thats exactly what I don't want Jim.! I want to connect the low voltage relayed circuit to a ignition switched 12v source. But where can I tap into one under the bonnet?
See this pic, the circuit on the left is 1(A) switched..

Rav - Cheers fella, already had that page saved, just wanted to know if the temp switch can handle high voltage directly from the battery and won't blow.

Ah got it, when I first read it you said "so it can be activated if the ignition is off." It now makes sense with your edit
What's wrong with wiring the fan in via the fusebox, as per the normal aux fan wiring? That's how I did mine and the fan stopped with the igniton off.

Did "Last edited by mcbonio on Mon Nov 12, 2012 7:49 am; edited 1 time in total" give it away? haha
Well to be honest, electronics aren't my forte. I'm much more of a spanner than a spark.
My car never had A/C and I really don't know where to start with wiring it via the fuse box. I was hoping to tap onto a 12+ ignition wire and doing it that way. I'm not fussed about having a single relay in the engine compartment, I can tidy it up nice.
Unless you want to do a nice little writeup with pics?

Nope, because there was no edit when I read it first. And on my screen it says " Last edited by mcbonio on Sun Nov 11, 2012 10:49 pm; edited 1 time in total "mcbonio wrote:Did "Last edited by mcbonio on Mon Nov 12, 2012 7:49 am; edited 1 time in total" give it away? haha
Don't know how you managed to edit it tomorrow morning
There was a write up by ian332isport, no idea if its made it into the Wiki though or if there's any pics. I didn't take any pics when I did mine, only had an hour to wire it in.Unless you want to do a nice little writeup with pics?

I'm actually speaking to you from the future Jim.! Or my time zone is set wrong....
Apparently we have an auxiliary near the fuse box...

The red and green wires, switched and constant.. Never noticed this before? Have you?

In that case, if you could drop me a PM with Tuesday's Euromillions numbers....
Nothing like that on any of my 30s
I would guess that's something aftermarket.
I think there's a switched live off the back of the ignition barrel, possibly a green wire - I'm trying to remember back 4yrs ago when I wired the EWS in
