Hi all,
I have a issue with my car and im coming preety fustrated with it.
Iv done the e30 m30 swap and its been fine, but recently the cars been running like a bag of crap...
Its gained a misfie that i cant seem to budge..i have swapped the coil and afm, changed plugs lead crank sensor fuel pump and still having no joys...it has spark..
Im now thinkin along the line of injectors breaking down or the loom..
Any help would be gratefully apreciated...
Thank you

Check engine to body earth strap. Also try disconnecting the battery or ECU, leaving it for an hour or so to reset it, then let it idle for at least 10 minutes to enable base idle settings to be learnt, switch off, then take it for a drive throughout the rev range.
And check that the TPS functions properly.

Listen for the click as you open and close the throttle (activate the throttle body lever in the engine bay).
It is a switch that tells the ECU whether the engine is in idle or open throttle mode.
You may want to remove the connector to it and verify that the switch opens and closes using a multimeter on either low resistance or continuity test (buzzer) mode.

Yes, it will have to be within a given distance of the toothed crank pulley wheel. Usually within 5-10mm or so.

Crank sensor needs to be 1mm from the toothed wheel and resistance should be between 500-600ohm at the plug.
Whats the dizzy cap and rotor like? if you do need to replace them there the same as M20 ones.
Does it smell like its running rich?

The dizzy looks ok and so does the Rotor arm.. The only thing that comes to my attention is the pulse sensor on the 6th lead...when unpluged nothing changes in the cars running..could that be a reason???
Im going to do a compression test now( what should it b reading?) and im goin to recheck the valves...

That sensor lead tells the ECU to fire the injectors in banks of 3 when you unplug it all 6 fire at the same time, it will run fine without it connected but will use a tad more fuel.
