you need the m30 map or you will not have the correct values.

I can supply an uprated or standard M30B35 chip if you need one.

No need to change the ECU - any later six-pot one will work, although the correct one is the 0 261 200 179.

would it make any difference if the ecu from the m30 engine was from a auto?
i am planning on using my 1990 facelift m20 manual loom along with a m30 ecu on my conversion, the m30 engine i have was from a 1989 e32 auto so could i still use that ecu? or shall i get one from a manual as i have read somewhere that it also controls the auto transmission is that correct?
any advise would be great,
thanks

If you have access to a b35 loom use the whole thing. Saves a lot of time and is an easy job.

i have the whole e32 m30 engine loom but its from a auto,i read here http://www.e30.de/335i/16.htm that if i had an auto loom i may as well source a manual loom as many cables run through it to operate the auto  so i was going to use the m20 loom to keep cost down and save time stripping out all the cables i don't need.
thanks
