I know that the M30B35s are renowned for being a bit tappety, but given that mine resides in a cabrio, that noise spoils the enjoyment a little as I am so exposed to the sound. This is not helped by the fact that I removed the underbonnet sound insulation to get the AFM in.
I have done the valve clearances 3 times (twice me, once by a BMW indi), completed the cam spray bar mod, I have had the injectors ultrasonically cleaned, and I have fitted brand new exhaust gaskets. All made not a blind bit of difference.
Anyone got any other ideas? Fed up with my car sounding like a skeleton masturbating in a filing cabinet.
Martin
Any tips for silencing the M30 tappety top end?
