I'm collecting bits for my M30 conversion, so far got the engine, box, loom, e28 rad and a few other bits.

Just wondering if the e36 328 prop had to be from a manual or would an auto one be ok? And is it self-explanatary how you reverse the centre bearing?

Sure I'll have more questions as I go, is it ok just to ask them in this thread rather than setting up a new one each time for different questions?

Cheers, Jer :)

The E36 328i prop has to be from a manual, you dont actually reverse the centre bearing you simply fit it to the front half of the prop.

I'll send you a PM in a sec Lee about getting some of your M30 mounts.

Why do you have to use 325 gear linkages and not 320? I was under the impression they were the same, but obviously not!

Im sure the linkages (and prop) are longer on a 320i by roughly 30mm

Pm'd back.

Hello mate, just noticed you are in Bristol I am north Bristol drop me a PM if you want to hook up or come see my e30 cab conversion...I'd be happy to get the kettle on.

A friend of mine did my conversion to a 3.5 but I have located a B10 Alpina so am transplanting that instead now (see Lee Parkes and my posts on this forum). Nice one 8)

Hi there, sounds good I'd be up for that sometime soon :)

I'm taking the car off the road next week to start the conversion, hopefully get the bulk of it done over christmas. I'll take some photos and start up a build thread of my own.

Just been reading your thread on the B10 engine, looking forward to seeing the progress on it, will be one hell of a car when it's done :D

B10 should be a handful

Good to hear you are going to post your progress on here, will be interesting. The guys on here have been really helpful to me and its great to see people cracking on with conversions like this. The cars are (just about) still plentiful enough for this not to be considered anathema; more akin to Cafe Racer'ing' motorbikes.

Will be watching with interest. 8)
