Hi all,

I have read that the e36 328i manual propshaft fits the m30 conversion....... I have been told that the 323i e36 prop is the same length..... but is the 325i e36 manual prop?

Does anyone know or can point me in the right direction???

Ive heard the 328i prop fits by reversing the centre bearing

Im still using the 325i prop as its the perfect length, some say its not strong enough but 12 months on and miles of 'hard' driving its still holding out fine,
the M20 turbo boys have put 300+bhp through them with no horror stories, plus there readily available

iirc the prop length should be 1495mm (but dont quote me on that)

Yep, to use a 325i prop you will need to use the flange off the 325i box

Ah, i see, i nearly brought a baur a few years ago till i pulled the carpets back in the boot, cool E30's, i like them

The flange is held on by a 30mm nut, you will need a deep socket (has to be fairly slim too) once the nuts off it just slides off the shaft.

No it must be off a 325i because for some reason the splines dont match with a 2.0 box

Ah I remeber the day when I did my conversion and there was only a few of us 335's kicking about, prop options back them where E30 M3 or custom. I just love the way it's all moved forward with more people trying different parts from different models.

Good luck with the conversion baurluvva :thumb:

328i one fits, leave the center bearing where it is and just drill some new holes. Its a bit long, but if you remove the lock nut from the centre it'll be the right length.

But 325i is best/easiest..
