Hi Guys,
im nearly finished my m30b35 swap into my series 2 318i and ive only a few minor things left to do like the exhaust. now i have the m30 downpipes chopped near the gearbox and im ready to slide my 325i system into the m30 pipes but where does my o2 sensor go. the e30 one is on the downpipes im not using and the e34 one is near the centre box that i also wont be using.
do you guys run the o2 sensor at all or do you relocate it into the system somewhere else.
also i should say, both cars are Australian so maybe the exhaust systems are different than the uk ones?

any info welcome guys, cheers

Most of us in the UK don't run with O2 sensors, since most UK E30s pre date when emissions equipment became compulsory, and for those built after this date, there are easily applied exceptions, but, I run my cars on LPG instead of petrol, so need to add an O2 sensor in most cases.
I use an ordinary M18 nut, slice it in half horizontally, to make it a thin nut, and weld it to one of the down pipes just before the bend where it changes from vertical to horizontal. There's just enough space here to make it readily accessible, but still tucked up safely out of harms way.
It will only be monitoring the gasses from half of the cylinders, but with an engine in good condition, this makes little difference.
