So I sourced a e28 single mass and wanted to put uprated/fast road ( call it what you will) clutch in !
Then I thought e28 m5 ! Would it fit ? Should have a beefier pressure plate !
And instead of following my gut in thinking it would fit , I did a ill research and only got confused by sh1t.

So I went on Realoem and cross referenced part numbers of both e28 535i/m535i to e28 m5

And they were different ?

So here I am

Will a e28 m5 clutch pressure plate etc
Marry up to a e28 535i/m535i single mass flywheel

Also I have dual mass bolts off old e34 fly !
Can these be used or are they longer ?

Not sure about the m5 clutch but I have a e28 535/m535 clutch on the m535 flywheel and it works really well, can't see any benefit of upgrading to be honest.

I'm sure those DM fly bolts are longer as the fly is much thicker. Worth checking the part number on real oem but I would check you use the right bolts mate.

My theory was that the m5 has more bhp over the 535i ,
So the clutch pressure plate would have a higher power rating than standard 535i

I think they probably would work but don't know for sure. I just used an E28 535i clutch and it stood up to drift abuse on a 250bhp hartge H5 engine fitted to my huge E32 735i.

You will definitely need shorter bolts for the single mass flywheel, great swap.

Standard E28 535i clutch will cope fine, im putting nearly 300 lbft through mine with no problems.

When I am using a e34 535i box
With a single mass from e28 along with e28 clutch!
Do I use a e34 or e28 clutch slave or are
The exactly the same ?
