Hi
I have a 1985 318 chromie with M10 engine in it as a start for my conversion to M30.
I read through many threads about m30 conversions and I'm still can't find one thing. What fuel pump can I use for my conversion?
Can I just somehow use the one in e34 that I'm using as a donor or do I need to look somewhere else, like 325i pump?
or if there is any other pump that is on sensible price that will fit e30 pls let me know

Thanks for your time guys :)

Ps: are all e30 fuel pumps interchangable or do I need to get it together with the tank?

This would be best answered in tech help, i cant help but a pump from the late E30's copes fine.
Not sure if you need a late tank to take the pump.

my M30 conversion is based on a facelift 318i cab with the M40 engine. I have no fuel delivery issues so far.

might be worth looking up your pump on the realoem site and cross referencing the part number

if i were to take a guess i'd say you would probably be ok as long as the discharge pressure is at least 3 bar.

to be honest i'd do the conversion first and see if you have any issues, can always change it later and keep the e34 pump just in case.

if you are going to change the fuel tank a larger tank would be good as they do sip the fuel well !!!

ok thanks guys will see when i'm done hopefully in a few weeks

Should atleast be able to start it with that pump anyway to see if its running and then how you say see if its coping alright.
Thought maybe it is posible to gut the assembly of e34 fuel pick up and put it in e30 or am I being silly ?

Thanks for advice much aprieciated
