My car initially failed its MOT on Co being 4.9% at idle. Thecar does hunt very slightly at idle but i put this down to running a super light M10 flywheel. To get it through MOT I raised the idle to 1000 rpm by adjusting the throttle cable, not ideal I know but needed that ticket.
Raised idle took it down to 3.05% still high but a pass (just). I want to sort this out.
Car has stood for a long time ( as a lot of you are aware ) so i thought a proffesional injector clean would be a good start and maybe a new FPR. Also clean out the idle control valve.
Anyone had any experience of having these injectors cleaned, and the difference its made.
Any other suggestions gratfully received
cheers
john

John, you might be better posting this in tech help, if you post up explain that an M30 is very similar to an M20 (which it is)
Regarding the injectors, imo if an engine has done over 100k and is 20+ years old they aint gonna be too clever anyway

Yeah fair point, I'm getting them done anyway now, just want to avoid the 'put an m52' comments that will no doubt happen by posting in tech help.leeparkes wrote:John, you might be better posting this in tech help, if you post up explain that an M30 is very similar to an M20 (which it is)

Thanks

Reviving an old thread. Finally got my injectors refurbed and fitted and discovered the rich mixture was down to the screw on the AFM being wound right in, probably to compensate for an air leak on the previous car the engine was fitted to.
What a difference, smoother idle, no rich smell, better hot starting, more power and more economical. Happy days
Next up. New radiator and clutch then its time for paint.
