Bit of help needed with the cooling system if poss chaps :D
i've taken Lee's advice and used the combined M30 and M20 coolant pipes like below
Image
would i be right in assuming the pipe shown goes to the expansion/header tank ?
if so i was wondering how people have done it
i found this pic on the net which shows a very long pipe run which i've marked in blue but wondered if anyone has just gone a more direct route?
Image
also as i'm converting a M40 car with built in header tank the rad i dont have the tank and pipe shown in yellow above. Are they from an M20 car ??
lastly i have the radiator shown the the above pic and it also has the 2 terminal termostat at the top right of the rad. Is this what you guys use to switch an electric fan ?
thanks very much guys
Jim

That pipe will go to the header tank from a facelift m20 engined car as will the small pipe from the top corner of the rad.

If you are using the half m20/half m30 pipes (like I did) then the pipe in blue on your pic doesn't need to be routed that way, it will come from the header tank and join up under the inlet manifold

No problem :)

Just thought, you might need to make a bracket to fit the m20 tank to your car, as being a 4 pot one I doubt the bracket would be on your car.

Nothing wrong with a cable tie or 2 winkeye Just think it it as a temporary fix, it will get done 'one day'!
