black box

ok M30 guru's, this black box which is wired into the 101 plug, the car the M30 came from was an auto, is this something to do with that, initially i though it was an alarm or imobiliser (the little light coloured wire looks like a remote aerial). The only connection to the car loom is the wires going to the c101.

Any ideas, any help most appreciated, thanks

if i don't need it i'd happily take it out of circuit.

right, i had a look at the plug on the car for this above socket and it's completely different so i've got another loom which has the right plug and no black box - guess i'll be using that then
