Right cars nearly done just last few bits to sort....what do i need to do to get the rad up and running ive gota hose that goes from the front of the engine to the back with a t joint in it goin to the front again... its the small hose in the picture... what hoses do i need Any help would be great... also what water tank should i get for the rad... it is an e30 325 rad

Also my oil filter has the take offs for oil cooler ...so i capped them off is that ok until i sorce an oil cooler

The smaller pipe is to go to the coolant bottle. I use a early type bottle but any will do.

and yes capping the oil top is fine but if you want to swap for a non oil cooler cap I will be happy to :wink:

I have an oil cooler setup for sale :) Both standard and aftermarket.

From the other thread now id say thats definatly an E28 engine with the upside oil filter.
On the exhaust side have you got loads of mounting holes in the block for the engine mount to bolt to? got any pics?

Plumbing is pretty much whats said above...

Yea there is a few holse on the exhaust side for mounts ... i fink its got a missmatch of parts lol as the last owner even put a 3.0 inlet on it god nows why but im tryna sorce a 3.5 inlet

should i just buy all 3.5 hoses then mate !!! im finding it hard to get hold of some down pipes too :(....

The first pic is (i think) the head number, you need to look for the date stamp, should be one on there somewhere.

Regarding the engine id put my money on it being an early e34 engine, cant remember what the E stands for in the 34 6E B code but the K in the 34 6K B code stands for Katalysor (sp) in other words it means its catalyst ready, ie lower compression, different map etc...iirc E28 engine numbers start with 35 not 34.

Also you said the engine came with a 3.0 manifold, did you buy this engine from up my way (Kingswinford) off a guy called Jamie? does it have a modified sump?
