Hello there

I am currently having alot of trouble trying to setup my 3.5l.
I had the car running fine off the standard fuel tank and fuel pump but have since removed it all and gone for an alloy tank in the boot with swirl pot.

First of all I had an overfueling issue so I bought an uprated adjustable fuel regulator and I am still having problems.

I am running two Facet fuel pumps which I cannot seem to get any info on. The numbers on the pumps are : e11*72/245*95/54*0536*00.

The fuel goes from the alloy tank to the swirl pot via fuel pump one. Out of the swirl pot to pump 2 and off to the fuel rail. The fuel rail has the fuel reg with the return going back to the tank.

When I try to start the car the fuel pressure jumps all over the place. I did wonder if I have the correct pumps. I did try running just one pump but still have a problem with the pressure.

Any help would be greatful as I really don't know what else it could be.

Regards Steven

I'd suggest going back to the standard tank and pump!

I fitted a Facet to my Fiat twin cam and it overfuelled it - went back to the standard mechanical pump (which was initially suspect, hence why I bought the Facet) and all is well again.

Thats interesting. It's abit hard for me to go back to the standard tank and pump as it has been removed due to the car being used for track.

I suppose I could get an external pump designed for that engine. I have seen uprated 325i fuel pumps. Would this work?

Is the engine standard? Use a pump with the correct flow rate for it.

I think problem is facet make pumps for low pressure carb system and will not run an injection system so I doubt you ever had an over fueling problem, you need a couple of external fuel injection pumps like bosch 044

It's been remapped and stainless exhaust system. So no major mods!

Thats not a bad idea. I have been looking at BMW E34 535i external pumps. They should be suited.

Thank you
