As long as it fit's between the chassis rails anything can be made to fit :D What position do you have your engine in (assuming it's an M30) I've run a standard M20B25 rad and now a standard E34 535 rad with my engine in position 3 (furthest back)

What is the E46 rad off?

E46 will have the expansion tank on the side of the rad though, dont know if it will be an issue.

I too ran an M20 rad for a while and didnt have any 'shityourself' moments at all, although the fan is on a lot :D

the e46 radiators are all the same from 316i to 330i! they are the same size of the 535i e28 one! i have already a e36 318is radiator but it's very little, my m20b20 radiator is pre restyling and it's really tiny!

but you're right i didn't thought about the expansion tank... where must it be plugged using the e28 radiator?

oh i have the engine in pos2, the e36 radiator fits well
