I used my 335i for the first time on the weekend at Pembrey drifting. Fair's they do go well!

The car currently has two 10" slim fans strapped to an E28 M535 radiator to help with cooling which prevent the temperature from increasing but it does take a while for it to cool down. I wonder if there is any better way of cooling the engine?

Regards Steven

A common error made by people when they fit electric fans is the direction they turn. Ensure they are drawing air from the front of the car and pushing it through the rad, ( if they are mounted in front of the rad that is).
E30 grills can be opened up to aid cooling about 30% of standard front grill is blocked off

As well as this, I found using an Ac front valance with the holes open made a huge difference. I have seen some pople make large holes accross the same area too, to get the same effect.

If you were drifting did you have your bonnet 'poped'?

E28 rad should be more than enough to cool an M30 down, not sure on your fan set up though, my E34 air con fan would suck your socks off.

Have you tested the rad to see if its blocked anywhere?

I did have the fans the correct way and I used the car with the bonnet off. Sounds like I would be better off with an E34 Air Con fan. Which one?

I have checked the rad and there are no blocks in the rad. I think I will also have a look at altering the front grill to allow more air in. I had a look today and I see what you mean that it's partially blocked. Will cut that away!
