Hi guys,
Im planning to run an M20 loom on my 3.5 conversion, do you have to modify anything within the loom of just plug it up and go?
Cheers

If you Got "Haters",Then your doing something Right!
CR24v??? Where's it all gone?? LOL
Ah extending a few wires is cool, i'll just crack on with the M20 loom as i already have it and i want the engine done this weekend really.. I have an M30 loom but its been cut to ribbons for some reason, so id rather extend the M20 one than completely re-build the M30 loom. My days of building wiring looms from scratch are long gone, thankfully!
If it doesnt work i'll get another M30 loom.

Well, extending the loom and making it all fit was a peice of cake, no cutting or soldering requierd, just stripping back some of the black plastic sheeth on the starter wiring and the AFM wiring, and removing the injector loom from its plastic case and it all reaches and plugs in.
Im not sure if i have an entire E30 M20 loom though, i think a little bit may be missing as there was no starter motor main power wire with it (i used the E34 one i had spare) so it cranks over now.. But it doesnt run, and it went dark before i had chance to check for fuel and spark but it just get the feeling that its not quite right, maybe some part of the loom i bought is missing.. Weak, time to get my search on.
Anyone have an M30 loom? ;)

It runs!
The M20 loom i had was damaged, found the problem and repaired it, switched the Crank and Spark sensor plugs over and it fired up.
Now to carry on with the work, prop to finalise, exhaust to bolt up and the conversion is done. If you had all the parts you need and they were known to be good, this is a day or two's work i reckon.

We'll see next Saturday if we can do it in a day although I might make a start by taking the old engine out before I come home on Friday.PazzaAE86 wrote: Now to carry on with the work, prop to finalise, exhaust to bolt up and the conversion is done.
