Morning guys, Yaseen all the way from SA.
Haven't posted much as I am more active in the South African bmw forum but frequent this place for its amazing knowledge base.
I'm unsure of what's going on with photobucket.com and its difficult posting any pics.
So here is what I've been collecting.
I have the following parts which I will merge to build what I belive is a budget motor.
M20b20 complete motor (which I can just turbocharge and run very low boost as is)
Then, I have a m20b25 standard block
M20b25 rods
M20b25 crank
And e36/e46 318i mahle pistons (Googled the part number they are 84mm cupped pistons which I'm told we can use to lower compression for the build)
That's the bottom end.
Up top I intend using the 731 head over the 885 head as I was told it can work with the 325i block. 885 heads are rare or expensive here.
Motor end is sorted. I hope
I needed to know if the combo mentioned above will work as I'm told its the route we are going. I'm just not technically skilled to really know what's what, but I have a friend who is sacrificing so much for my build.
Other parts I know we have laying around for the build are these ( we continue to add as we go along)
T3/t4 garrett turbo and downpipe
Plumbing from an m20 turbo
Intercooler
A few gauges
65mm exhaust system
And a few other things
Will keep updating the post and hope to share my battles as I go along.
