Finally got my m20b25 fitted and running in my car. I bought a dizzy cap off the internet as the original was damaged. Fitted the new cap and the rotor arm catches the poles within the cap. It looks like it's been made incorrectly.
My question is do people go straight to the dealer for a genuine one or is there any decent non gen that are any good? Febi perhaps?
Its the orange cap with the angled leads that's fitted.

I got aftermarket bremi parts for both rotor and cap without issue.

Sourced from eBay iirc

There's certainly no need to go to BMW, since BMW buy in lots of parts from outside suppliers, not make them 'in house'.
The distributor caps I have around are all Bosch, but Bremi are an OE supplier of ignition parts to BMW as well.
