Hello all I'm New to the forum so I want to introduce myself
My name is Eamonn I live in galway in Ireland I'm 20 I currently work as an apprentice mechanic.

I've recently bought a 94 316 touring with intentions of doing nothing to it but drive it but that fell to the way side quite quickly so I got an 2.5 from a 87' 325I and plopped her in, the issue I have is the engine I got is missing a few bits and I don't know what I do or don't have I know the injectors of the m40 I see there is a large plastic connector that covers the 4 injectors, on my m20 I have nothing like that I have connectors on the loom but they don't appear to be long enough to cover the 6 also the c101 plugs have different pins one has 10 the other has 13 pins and I can't find an accurate diagram to compare the 2... any help anybody could offer on any of this would be very much appreciated :o

I'm an equally cranky old git of substantial age, who lives a bit closer to you, but still separated by a stretch of water.
The extra pins on the M20 loom are for the oil level sensor, which your 316i body loom does not have provision for.
Before you go any further, check what is connected to pin 20 on both the engine loom and the body loom. The function of this pin was changed by BMW during the E30's production run, and getting it wrong results in much smoke, and badly damaged looms.
Can't make out what you mean about the injectors, so I'll wait for some pics.

These are the connectors that fit the injectors although there doesn't seem to be enough wire behind them to cover the 6 they will only reach the first 4 although there are 6 connectors all the same I'm wondering am I missing anything from the top of the injectors

The loom I have was butchered before and its wrecking my head a bit as well as that previous to me getting the engine it was left aside in a shed for some years and I'm not sure what I have or havnt . Would you mind awfully if I asked do you know what this gallapy is or where it should live . Much appretiated In advance

How many bits are missing and how 'chopped about' is the loom? Looks like you have an early and somewhat primitive Motronic system here, and it may be an idea to cut your losses and update it with the M1.3 loom and ECU from a post '87 320 or 325.

The ABS light will probably be the lack of a wire on your engine loom, from pin 87 of the DME relay to pin 20 of the C101 engine loom plug. This needs adding on any loom dated before about 1990.
If the cluster warning lights don't come on with the ignition key, check the smaller leads on the battery + terminal are making good contact.
