I remember reading a build where the OP used 135mm rods in his 2.7/2.8 stroker, but I can't find it again to see what he did about stack height... IIRC, he got his pistons with a 4.5mm higher wrist pin (the difference in TDC height between stock crank and M52B28 crank). I would like to use 135mm rods to reduce side-load on the pistons, and keep it more reliable in higher RPMs.

Anyone ever hear of getting pistons with a different wrist pin location?

usually involves custom pistons, its very common. ive also seen some use pistons from a 24V engine and machine the crown but unless you replicate the OEM dish-dome shape IMO its a half assed job

I've already accepted the fact of shelling out for custom pistons, as I have the mind to have the bores done to 85mm. I was just having a hard time finding a source or supplier that could offer both oversized and custom wrist pin dimensions, for the M20.

Steve from topend will do the dish dome piston ( either the low comp or high comp style) for m20 885 head using JE piston. tell him what you want/need you can choose what ever bore and compression height you want basically(not limited to whats listed). you can get smaller wrist pin size but will need to look into rebushing the rods you want to use. there are also different rings, coatings and features you can add to the piston for extra of course. you are probably looking at about 1000 USD with rings, pins, locks
