M20 2.7 or 2.8 engine build query

Hi,
I am after some advice; I am currently contemplating a 2.7 or 2.8 engine build.
The engine I am currently running is a standard 325i engine with a 284/272 shrick cam.
Would this be compatible if I were to transfer it to either a 2.7(m21) or 2.8(m52b28) bottom end build?
I would appreciate any advice.

yes the 2.8 will reuse the same head and cam etc, same pistons etc, you just get eta rods, m52 crank and the sleeve
