The Bentley manual states the different sizes of the bearings according to colour, including the main bearings.
I've found red paint on the crank,green paint on the block (rhs of main bearings in pic) and a green spot on the 1st and 3rd con rod caps.
May be able to get the right sizes without measuring, as the bearings are all original and the crank is perfect.

I wouldn't just go on that, I would get the crank measured to be on the safe side.

All the hard work and you realise the bearings are wrong size, the crank would need to come back out again.

Thanks SS. You're right i will measure eventually, in the meantime it looks like standard size red big ends, and standard size green mains. I'm not sure yet what the green dots on the con-rods are for.
