can the engine loom from a 1988 e34 520i be used for a Motronic 1.3 upgrade in a e30 325i...
I removed one cheap (5 quid) at the breakers and all the connections are present, though the ECU end doesn't have the correct firewall grommet... diagnostic plug and relays will also need relocating
thanks in advance

considering all the connectors are intact, I 'm going to give it a go... first step is to check the C101 connector for compatibility with the e30 loom

The loom will work, but you need to check the location of the ECU - you may find that the E34 loom isn't long enough to fit the ECU where it should normally live.

I put an E34 M20 in my car, but I can't remember which loom I used :o:

The loom wont be long enough for the ECU to sit in the right place. Id just find an E30 one
