not starting with key, only jump

Hi guys,

Im having an issue with starting my car after returning from holiday (M20b25 pre facelift). Im basically getting no reaction from the engine when turning the key, i hear some buzzing but the actual engine doesnt turn. It however does start if i get someone to give it a push and i wack it in gear two and release the clutch. Is this the starter motor gone? If so how easy are they to change?

Sounds like it could be the starter motor on the way out or sticking - try rocking the car back and forth in gear then try the starter.

It could be the solenoid not working properly - check all connections to the starter motor are tight.
