Hi

After recently buying a 325 touring, I've decided I want to tidy it up, as there are lots of little niggles that need addressing.

One of these issues is the air filter assembly on the m20b25 seems very loose, as the box can be pulled up with not much effort. I think it is missing a mount but I have nothing to compare it too.

Could someone possibly take a picture of their engine on their air filter side so I have something to look at and compare with mine?

Many thanks!

Here's a pic of one:

The rubber mounts bolt onto the brackets on the inner wing.

Why dont you take a picture and we'll tell you what is wrong :D

There should be 3 fixings points, on the airbox. Two at the top and one at the underside. There should be a V shaped bracket on the N/S inner wing. The bottom mount is just a U shaped bung that sits at the bottom of the V. The top two are threaded studs set into the air box and attach to the tops of the V with 10mm nuts. Once fixed it should be quite sturdy.

You can see the fixing points on speedtouch's picture on the left, but it is upside down.

Mine does have the rubbers but they don't seem to be bolted right, I'll take a picture tonight or tomorrow.

Cheers

Right got a picture.

The mounting bolts don't look very tight, should they have some sort of washer on? I also see one nut is missing... This could be my issue!

Please ignore the nasty colours, it was purchased like that, it will all be painted VHT black ASAP!

Indeed, preferably using 10mm nuts with the washers built in to the base.
