1986 e30 325i Baur cabrio Red oil light

I have a 1986 e30 325i Baur cabrio and recently the red oil pressure warning light flashes on/off once when engine reved up? Have changed oil and oil pressure switch but made no difference, any ideas people?

could be the oil pump, if you need to rev the engine to get the light to go out
