Anybody know where I can get hold a a silicone hose to replace the one between the AFM & TB? But it needs to have a take off for the ICV.

had a look on eBay, samco's site & I just can't find any anywhere.

been thinking about replacing it with a 90dg steel bend with a take off welded on, would this work ok??

so does anyone know where I could lay my hands on a silicone one??

won't be needing it for a few weeks though lol.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

i replied to this the other day, for some reason its gone.

what would be the benefit from going silicon?

try viper performance, if they dont do one then they do take offs designed for silicon hoses.
otherwise they may do a custom batch if you can get a few people together.

Samco is probably the best. They do make one (with and without the vacuum ports for the brake booster). The Samco elbows do accommodate the ICV.

The part number is TB2383 for the elbow WITHOUT the vacuum ports (you can still run vacuum from the throttle body though).

I guess the benefit of silicon is that the bend is not rippled like the factory elbow and thus (in theory) should provide smoother airflow through the TB. Also the Samco elbow has a larger diameter than the factory elbow which is good if you are trying to enlarge the intake tract.

EDIT; Miller Performance Cars also make an elbow, but I am not sure how it lines up with the ICV as it is designed for use with their M20 turbo kit. Should be easy enough to find out from them.

im using a silicon one, as im using m30 afm and bbtb, i used some parts to make a take off for the icv, but you could use 25mm turbo blow off connector, its what i was looking at before i made my own, ill get a pic up

@hongkongfuey cheers dude :) also you have a PM.

@hairyscreech the benefits I can see about using a silicone elbow is that unlike rubber it won't go brittle with age & split leading to air leaks..

@millrat thanks for the part number but £65's a bit steep at the moment so I might take the same route as hongkongfuey & make my own take off for the ICV

Yeah that's a good point.

If your going to make your own then getting a decent radius ti the bend will be important. Larger the radius the better the air will flow through it.

well I pm'd hongkongfuey about how he made his & he's told me how to go about it so all I've got to do now is measure up & then get all the bit's ordered as I refuse to pay £65+ for one lol.

Time to dig up an old thread :-)

Finally got round to trying to do this & I've got a 90dg silicone bend & cut it down to size & make a hole for the ICV to fit into as I've already extended the pipe on the other side of the ICV.

So when I get a dry day I'll crack on & get some pic's up.

Remember when I did it. The pipe inside of the silicone pipe was flush. No protruding pipe
