Ok I was told today that a 320 head is the same as a 325i head?
They can't be the same can they?
320 head on 325i engine

Won't work standard as the squishbands don't match. The squishband can be modified to work however its not worth doing unless you have a very good reason to.
If you want a new head for a 325 then you want the 885 casting.
If you want a new head for a 325 then you want the 885 casting.

Ihave always wondered how a 731 head with modified chamber would go on a B25.........the discharge coefficient based on min CSA is better on the 731 than the 885 but it is physically smaller so absolute flow is lower
E30 325is with M20B31

Yes it will, the 731 head i have to test is a head that was on a 320 i had and was then pressed into service on a b25 by a friend in order to get a 325 touring belonging to his boss's dad up and running as a daily smoke.
In order to get it working the head required the squish bands cutting back to match the angle squish on the 885.
Will post a few findings from the last couple of weeks on my stroker thread rather than bring this OT.
