hey, im trying to build a budget stroker out of my 2.7 eta
and iv herd you can skim .5 or .05 from the 885 head if using the stock eta pistons. to raise compression slightly back to "normal"
or ether around 9.1 or 9.6, and that .5 would have max travel of the timing belt tensioner. would this work? i dont wanna do it unless
i have some conformation that the valves and pistons wont touch doing this, anyway let me know your oppinions thanks!

the budget max is $500 for this car so i cant change pistons and keep in the budget.

btw is in the us and it has us pistons not euro high compression. i thought just getting a 731 head but im thinking it would be to much to ship. cuz they are very rare here in the us. not readily avail.

why not find a "super ETA" bottom end and use that ?

731 heads are worthless here, a stripped one( no cam or rockers ) would reduce shipping weight by 50 % easy, perhaps worth exploring ??

i just got off the phone with jim @ metric mechanic. dono if you guys have heard of him. hes one of the top m20 engine builders here. he said the same thing my best bet would be seta bottom end. and i head. that even after shaving head compression would still be really low. . well im trying to do this build as cheap as possable the car is planned on going in 24hours of lemons ($500 limit)
what are hp fuigures for using the 731 head anyway?
