As expected, the head gasket has failed on my high comp m20 (early tech 1). (it was running 18psi). I'm lookig to build a purpose built engine with race hardware but hopefully using some salvaged bmw parts i.e crank, con-rods, pistons(may use custom pistons). Has anyone any suggestions as to what to bulid, for example b25,b27,b28 etc, and does anyone have a proven recipe for internals running boost?? Any sugestions greatly appreciated.

Dont do it!! haha!! Basically, for most cost effectiveness, buy cheap m20's as an when they come up. stick a gasket set , head studs and timing belt oil pump etc on it and boost it till it goes pop. Stick another in it and so on :-) or build a b27/b28 with strong internals, do the service stuff above and head studs. Also use minimum 400cc injectors and a decent pump. ££££££££
