Anyone used a catcam 264 in a M20? Got any rolling road plots? I wanting to find out about the power delivery compares to a schrick 272 or catcam 273 (which there are plenty of data on). The difference in how the specs are defined makes it hard to compare on paper.

cheers

I have one to put in a engine I am putting together but as you have found there is not much info on it. There was mention that the way Shrick and Catcam list the specs that it is closer to a Shrick 272. I didn't get a timing card or anything with it as I picked it up new but second hand so hopefully someone has used one and has some info on it.

There is plenty of info on the specs on the website, would be good to see the torque curve specifically torque at 2500rpm as a % of peak torque.

The catcam 273 (now called 285iirc) is very cammy as is my 298/285 in my 3.1L and while midrange and topend are good the torque off cam is not impressive and you need a big CC engine with higher CR to make these cams have good performance in the lowend so i wonder if the 264 helps significantlt with this.

I am building an engine to be permanent resident in my car until i sell it, with my 3.1L being kept for a future project. The new engine will be a 2.7/2.8 with CR about 9.5 which is not suited for the catcam with duration > 273 IMO. I have a nice mild ported head which should make using a smaller cam still perform well simialar to a C2 2.7

That is why i am thinking catcams 264 or schrick 272
