in the middle of the pic theres a U shaped braket held by[img] the 13mm bolt also visible. Once bracket removed whats the seal there as mine leaking oil from there. Anyone know what I'm refering to and how to sort it? As I've also got overheating prob thats not related to cooling system, I'm thinking oil pump, probably them litlle dodgy plastic washer things over oil pump drive shaft. I'm tinking its related to oil leak just dont know how it does yet... Any ideas be appriciated people javascript:emoticon(':?')

That looks like the blanking plate fitted where the distributor was on the early cars.
If that was my engine,I would remove the plate,clean it's bottom and the block mating face thoroughly,and re-assemble with a smear of gasket goo.
What sort of symtoms do you have for your overheating issue?
Most overheating problems seem to centre around getting the system filled without trapping air.
