Now my E30 is roadworthy or thereabouts, it's time to sort out niggles.
The first one is my lack of a rev counter or anything run from that fuse (which is blown). Has anyone got any inspiration for me? I've read that it could be the C101 plug and the black wire but also that the prefacelift loom runs the rev counter differently?! Is it a 3 pin plug under the drivers side dash that runs this?

Can you explain a little more by what you mean with regards to prefacelift to facelift? I'm assuming a facelift loom in a prefacelift car?
If that is the case then you need to do a little bit of wiring, your fuel gauge won't be working either. Can email you the guide i used to get mine working if you want.

Yeah, it might not have been as obvious as it was in my head!
Basically you've got it, it's a prefacelift 320i fitted with a late M20B25 Sport engine/box/loom. Strangely my fuel guage and temp guage work fine. It's just the rev counter, dash clock, interior lights and anything else that runs of that fuse. When you replace the fuse it blows instantly. The service indicator lights stay on too, something I don't remember happening when it was the 2.0.

the black cable on pin 1 of the 3 pin plug under the dash (c104 or c103)is the one you need. I think i was told pin 16 in the c101 which is connected engine side of the harness but not present on the main loom. Ive just tapped into this to get the tacho working off my megasquirt.
