Would you say this inectors buggered and has to be replaced?

How has this happened?

Im holding off getting them reconditioned/replaced because Il be needing bigger ones when I go down the 2.7 turbo route - is this a wise move?

also

why have I got the 'mayonnaise' shit in the inlet manifold? (head gasket gone? - apparently its been replaced before I brought it) - I found some on the oil cap too which I thought was there because the cars been stood for over a year and half while its had work done to it.

It looks like you have a bit of a problem with either the head gasket or the head itself. The injector looks a little sooty and burnt, which is because of a non sealing valve, it may be burnt in the seat area, or sticking etc.

You will be able to fix the valve when you take the head off to fix head gasket :) good luck

Which probably explains the shit on the inlet manifold too! Nice one for that mate!

Best thing to do is, take the head off and take to a machine shop and get it pressure tested. If you can remove the valves and give it a clean it might save you a few quid. Make decisions on what to do once you get the result of the test.
