only catch at the minute is u get a nice hiccup at the RPM the launch control is set at if driving at the same RPM and hitting the same low load area so at the minute would only really be suitable if u dont rev the engine in that RPM area under light throttle in gear or if its for drag racing chips could be swapped beforehand and it would be suitable enough to drive to the races. hoping to work a way around that little gremlin but i dont know if our good old 20 year old motronic would have the capability for the alternative method (would need dual rev limiters, one for under load one for free revving and i dont think it has). still pretty cool that it can indeed be done tho. havent heard of anyone else doing this with M1.3 so i may be in uncharted territory here
Launch Control on Motronic 1.3 anyone?

been toying with the possibility of adding launch control to the standard motronic management and its very possible as u can see here, pity the road was wet tho

Motronic 1.3 also had the capability for stability control. If the ECU detects via the ABS system that the driven wheels are spinning much faster than the non driven wheels the ECU will close the throttle on cars equiped with fly by wire throttle and retard the ignition timing.
So there must be some 1.3 cars out there with fly by wire throttle. There is a lot that motronic 1.3 ca do that it doesn't in BMW's.
It also has a limp home function that isn't used. So launch control would appear to be a variation on the automatic stability control outlined above. Presumably without an electronically controlled throttle plate the ECU would just retard the ignition timing.

the way i did it was pretty crude, i killed fuelling at a specific RPM in one area of the low part throttle fuel map, hoping to find a better way tho.
where did u hear about this fly by wire setup? i havent seen any maps that look like ignition modifiers that would fit such a system, there are modifiers but for adding or subtracting timing depending on coolant temp or intake air temp. ive looked at every map listed in the index of map addresses in the code of the file as well as some that arent listed. i believe there are loads more that arent listed but those are tricky to find.
as for limp mode, think i already know that one but hard to check it.

I have a document about the feature of motronic 1.1/1.3 by bosch I think. It a pdf so no way to post it on here. It however does not give any more detail than what I have posted which I lifted from this document.
ooh can i see? haha
email maybe?
