i've been looking at the oil catch tanks on rar sport & a few i've seen on ebay & i was wondering if some one on here could explain the theory behind them for me?

oil catch tank

for a standard road car i would give it a miss as there are no gains to be had.
the oil fumes or mist is sucked from the top of the rocker cover thru a rubber
tube into the inlet manifold and burnt along with the air and fuel mix basically.
in theory the oil mist is diluting the fuel mixture. i am sure some one will along
with the pro's and con's

thanks for that but my engine is not totaly standard
it's got a 270dg fast road cam, bbtb, 6 branch exhaust manifold, chipped ecu, pipercross viper evo induction kit (with cold air feed) & a ported & polished head.
just trying to find out all the pro's & con's of the catch tanks.
thanks for that anyhow.

I run an oil catch can on my M20. It has stopped a lot of oil returning to the throttle body, phlenum and motor, however I could not tell you whether it has made any power difference or not.

Cheers,
Michael.
